Manos a la obra (2020)
Dimensions 110’ 18.5” x 20’ 6” aprox.
This mural was a self-managed project created in response to the isolation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. After many months of being under lockdown, Ciudad Museo’s team returned with the idea to create a mural that would identify the facade of their art workshop Taller de Arte Ciudad Museo in Añasco. Its design is composed of a collection of elements which summarizes Ciudad Museo’s journey from its beginnings until 2020. The centennial building that houses the organization and the Programa de Bellas Artes Municipal of Añasco, served as a canvas to create a piece charged with symbolism, representing key moments in the organization’s growth. Over time, the mural has been retouched and slightly modified to ensure its preservation and maintain its appearance.
Located on the back facade of the Programa de Bellas Artes Municipal, former Sergio Ramírez de Arellano-Hostos Bilingual School, in Añasco, Puerto Rico.
